Duque dos Archons (Archon´s Duke)

Não. Eu não conhecia esse bando, nem sei se tinha nome pra ele. Mas achei tão tri chamar de Duke dos Archons que não resisti!

No. I do not know this warband, not even has a name to it. So i invented one, and i love to call it Archon´s duque!


Nosso quinto jogador (ero o terceiro, mas o Microelf e o Friedly Alienist furaram a fila por terem bandos tão semelhantes com os dois primeiros jogadores) é nada mais nada menos que o Sr. Campeão do Mundo da GenGon 2009 em DDM. E olha só o bando do cara:

Our fifth player and warband (it was suposse to be the third, but Microelf and Friednly Alienist jump to from with so similar warbans with the first two players) is nothig more than Mr. Gen Worldwid Champion 2009 DDM. E take a look at his band:

Pra falar a verdade eu até me surpreendi com os poucos bandos com o duque do inferno em jogo. Ao que eu lembro, Brig e Skay foram os dois únicos jogadores que apostaram nele. Talvez temendo que tivessem que enfrentar muitos jogadores com resistência a fogo. E olha só que barbada, quase nenhum bando preparado pra ele. Acho que existem no máximo 3 bandos com resistencia adequada.

To tell the true, i have surprised myself to see so few iron duques warbands in tournament. As long as I remember only Brig and Skay was the ones who bet at him. Maybe fearing to face some too much fire resistence people have abandoned him. But take a look, it is really few the number of warbans with this power. I think it has only 3 warbands with the proper resistence.Desnecessário dizer que Dispater é mais do que o coração do bando. É a alma dele. Suas minors capazes de causar dano de fogo em todo mundo e criar terrenos de fogo em linha de visão são realmente infernais. Dispater seria quase tão terrivel quanto o bando Necromancia Total. Mas acho que esta uma escala abaixo dos mesmos. Ainda assim considero este um dos bandos mais terríveis do campeonato. Me chama muito a atenção que os 3 primeiros jogadores tenham bandos tão fortes.

Unnecessary to tell that Dispater is the very heart of the warband. It is more, is the soul. They minors powers are able to do fire damage in everyone, also can create fire terrain at line of sight, powers really infernal. Dispater it was almost so terrible like the Total Necromancy warband. But i think he needs to step a few more stairs to come close to that ones. Even so this warband is no less a menace from its oponents. It really please me to see this 3 stronger warbands at the very beggining of the VWC warbands analysis.


Apesar de tudo o bando do Brig é defensivo. Isto se ve pelos seus suportes e o mapa escolhido: 3 merchant guards e 3 infernal armors no flooded ruins. E isto pode ou não ser um problema pro nosso amigo campeão do mundo.

After all, Brig´s warband is defensive. We can see this clearly looking at the fodders and chosen map: 3 merchant guards, 3 infernal armors and flooded ruins batle map. And this can or cannot be a problem to the worldwid champion.A estratégia do bando me parece simples e eficaz. Sem nenhum ataque a distancia muito impactante, além das minors do Dispater e um ataque ranged dele. Brig deve usar suas duas minors para ir minando as forças dos adversários, criando terrenos para tranca-los ou mesmo causando dano de fogo em todos para que o adversario perca ativações. Notem que o bando do Brig possui 4 peças que irão sofrer o mesmo dano, logo é indicado que ele deve poupar estas minors, a não ser que o adversario possua evidentemente menos ativações.

The strategy behind the warband it seems to me very simple and effective. Withou any ranged attack too effective, other than Scathing Rod, it is clear to me that Brig will use it´s minor actions to slow down and doing damage to the oponent forces. The fire terrain will slow down and make damage the oponent, also he can use minor to do fire damage at every creature on batlemap. Note that Brig warband has 4 creatures that was not immune fire, so this give us some clues that he´ll avoid this minor at the beggining, unless of corse, if the oponent has really low acts.


Com este pequeno poder agressivo de Dispater, ele agride o adversario e o obrigada a ir para cima do Duque. Ai entram os Archons que na minha opinião são ofensivos, mas irão cumprir um papel de guarda costas. Bloqueando o avanço inimigo e rechaçando seus ataques.

With this smaller but considerable agressive power from Dispater, Brig must forces the adversary to come up to try to best the duke. There enter the Archons, who at my opinion will roleplay like "bodyguards" from the duque. Blocking the enemy lines and sending away.As infernal armors irão garantir pelo menos 45 pontos de vida extra pro bando, sem contar os merchant guards. Com isto o bando do Brig será capaz de aguentar por muitas rodadas.

The infernal armors will gift they allys with 45 hps of extra life to the warband, and we cannot ignore the merchang guards, who can give more than the 30 hp they usual have. With this Brig warband will be able to defend itself for many rounds or from many agressive attacks.


Quando o combate estiver franco, os Archons serão capazes de inflingir até 30 de dano em criaturas adjacentes por conta de sua aura de fogo.

At the moment the batle became large-hearted, the archons will be able to do until 30 damage at adjacent creatures, since they have a nice fire aura.


Outra dificuldade que antevejo é vs bandos de guerra com poder de ataque a distancia. Neste momento, é muito provavel que Brig perca rapidamente seus suportes, e seja obrigado a enviar seus dois archons para o combate. Mas vale destacar que com tantos bodyguards e com as infernal armors a tendencia é que estas criaturas cheguem fulllife no combate.

A trouble i see to this warband, is when it will face warbands with highly distance firepower. At this moment, it is very predictable that the roles changes and Brig loses its suport and must be send they guardians to the batle. Of corse since we have so many defensive suport with the merchant and the infernal at his disposo, it is almost a sure that the archons get the fight will fulllife.O maior problema que vejo no bando, é o dano de fogo. Enfrentar um bando possuindo resistencia a fogo, como o gnoll bombardeio será a ruina deste bando. Brig até pode jogar bem e se defender bem, mas na minha opinião a vantagem se encontra nos bandos com resistencia a fogo.

Another problem is the fire damage dependence. If Brig faces a resist fire warband, like the gnoll bombing it is almost for sure it´s down. Brig can of corse play masteskill and do its best to reverse this cenary, but the advantage is clearly at the other side where fire resist reside.Por fim, como disse, o Bando do Brig possui ofensividade, mas eu o caracterizo mais como defensivo, e altamente defensivo. Não tem nada de fácil em derrubar este bando. Alias é mais fácil o adversario chegar derrubado nele, quando chegar e SE CHEGAR.

At the end, like said begore, Brig warband is powerfull, but is a defensive one, and really defensive, specially if he win the map. Nothing easy to break apart this warband. Alas it is much more easy the adversary come in peaces to batle him, when he get there, IF HE GET THERE.


Acredito que alguns pareamentos serão dificeis pra este bando, mas antevejo classificação pro Brig que deve entrar com 4-1 ou 3-2. NO ENTANTO se Brig tiver azar nos pareamentos ele pode enfrentar 3 bandos que são sua ruina e não se classifincar ficando com 2-3. Mas não acredito nesta possibilidade.

I believe that some pairings can be hard to this warband, but i foresee a easy classification to Brig, who must enter with 4-1 or 3-2. HOWEVER if Brig has some bad luck at pairiing he can face 3 warbands that in my opions is his nemesys, then its classification will became threatned, cause i cannot see another result than a 2-3. But i do not belive in such bad luck.
