Marsha Mellow e Eu

Sou um leitor ávido, realmente gosto muito de livros, assim como minha esposa. As vezes acaba acontecendo que eu acabo meus livros e avanço nos dela. Nem sempre me agrada o estilo, mas ultimamente devo confessar que algumas escritoras femininas e seus livros acabam me agradando.

I am an avid reader, I really like books, same with my wife. Sometimes just going on that I end my books, then i advance on my wife´s books. I do not always like the style, but lately I must admit that some women writers and their books end up pleasing me.

Na falta de opção na minha biblioteca acabei roubando o livro Marsha Mellow e e Eu de Maria Beaumont da estante da minha esposa e devo confessar. Ótimo. Uma comédia sem igual. Sem aquela frescurada clássica da maioria dos livros de mulherzinha.

In the absence of choice in my library I just stole the book; "Marsha Mellow and I" of Maria Beaumont's author, on the bookcase of my wife and I must confess: Great. A unique comedy. Without that classic freshness of most books of woman.

É um livro que trata basicamente das confusões em que podemos nos meter ao vivermos de mentiras. Alias contar a verdade, não nos tira destas mesmas confusões.

Maria Beaumont nos traz uma personagem interessante; Marsha Mellow que na realidade é o Alter Ego de Amy, a pessoa real que escreveu um romance pra lá de sórdido, arrebanhou a opinião pública inglesa, esta causando o maior furor na mídia e na mente dos adolescentes mas quer permanecer incógnita por conta de ser de familia conservadora.

Maria Beaumont brings us an interesting character; Marsha Mellow is in reality the Alter Ego of Amy, the real person who wrote a novel up there in squalid, garnered public opinion in England, is causing the greatest furor in the media and the minds of teenagers but wants to remain incognito on account of being part of a conservative family.

O livro é hilariante, me peguei rindo e imaginando as situações diversas vezes. É escrito de forma leve e os dialogos são rápidos e perspicazes. O livro não apela em nenhum momento para o sexo - ao menos não da maneira corriqueira -, nem para o romantismo bobo, de forma interessante usa alguns clichês básicos, mas a autora é muito boa e sabe usa-los de forma impressionante no livro.

The book is hilarious, I found myself laughing and imagining the situations many times. It is written in a light style and the dialogues are quick and insightful. The book does not appeal at any time for sex - at least not in the ordinary way - or for the romantic fool, interestingly uses some basic cliches, but the author is very good and knows how to use them in impressive fashion in the book.

Algo que eu curti muito, foi em como a autora explora o lado business do lançamento de livros, desde os pré-contratos até mídia (bem, de certa forma). Confesso que gostei muito do capitulo que trata do contrado de "Marsha" com seu editor.

Something I enjoyed very much, was how the author explores the business side of the book launch, from the pre-contracts to the media (well, somewhat). I confess that I liked the chapter that deals with the contrast of "Marsha"with their publisher.

Recomendo aqueles que querem ler algo leve e hilário. E se for o caso, podem dar de presente a suas namoradas neste dia dos namorados. Aposto que elas vão gostar. É também uma ótima desculpa para comprar ele e ler depois.

 I recommend those who want to read something light and hilarious. And if necessary, can give a gift to their girlfriends this Valentine's Day. I bet they will like. It is also a great excuse to buy it and read later.
