Centauro Místico (Centaur Mystic)

Hoje vou apresentar uma miniatura que deu muuuuito trabalho para fazer.
Já fazia um tempo que eu estava projetando e montando esta peça. Mas tive alguns probleminhas para conseguir deixa-la como eu queria.

Today i´ll show you a miniature that has give me a looooooot of work to do.
It is been a long time i had it on design and was bulding it. But it take a little long to come to an end, cause it was difficult to make it the way i wanted.

A miniatura de hoje é um Centauro Mistico.

Today miniature is Centaur Mystic.

O Livro dos Monstros II da 4e nos apresenta 5 centauros, e de todos o que mais me chamou a atenção foi o mistico. Ele é uma espécie de centauro shaman ou druida. Evoca força da natureza e espiritos para auxiliar e guiar sua tribo.

The 4e Monster Manual II, introduce us with 5 new centaurs, and of all, the most i had liked was the mystic. It is somekind of shaman or druid centaur. He uses the forces of nature and from the spirits to help and guide his tribe.

Coloquei centauros em mesas de RPG muito poucas vezes. No geral eles eram coadjuvantes ou simplesmente NPC´s que ajudavam os heróis com algum tipo de informação, mas sempre gostei deles. A visão nova que a 4ed deu a estas criaturas com certeza me faria pensar em algo especial para eles.

On my RPG sessions i must confess, that i have used very few centaurs, and always they has a role as a NPC´s who has some kind of important clue to heroes, but not more than this. I must confess that i have liked this new look from 4e, and this makes me think on something special for this creatures. But this is another day talk.

Para criar o centauro mistico eu usei como base mais uma vez o Unicórnio de Dangerous Delves, para representar a parte superior foi bem dificil. No geral eu achava que os elfos seriam melhores, mas o grande problema é que a cintura de todas estes humanoides não combinavam nem um pouco com o enorme encaixe que eu precisaria fazer para adequar o corpo de uma criatura humanoide no pescoço do unicórnio.

To build Centaur Mystic i have used once more the Unicorn from Dangerous Delves to be the main body, the humanoid part however was difficult to find something good. At general the best will be the elfs but all humanoid creatures has no waist apropriete to be fixed with a so large base as is the neck of the unicorn.

Não existe nenhuma criatura de tamanho médio em DDM que possa ser usada.

In true simple do not exist on DDM any creature that can be fixed in direct way on this.

Passei então a procurar quem me daria uma base inicial mais coerente. Foi bem dificil, e na real eu quase desisti da miniatura. Por fim eu acreditei que a melhor criatura seria a Golden Wyvern Initiate. Não perguntem porque, acho que foi por instinto ou talvez porque tivesse um cajado na mão.

Then, i started to look for something coherent to be used. It is was really hard. In true i almost quit the task. At the end i start to believe that the best choice was Golden Wyvern Initiate. Do not ask me why. I think it was the staff, that help me to choose her.

Ainda assim, a Golden Wyvern também não preenchia com seu corpo a base necessária para se cobrir do unicórnio. Comecei então a pensar nos acabamentos.

Anyway, Golden Wyvern also has no a good body to be fixed on the neck. I needed something to help on this matter.

A primeira coisa era dar continuidade ao pescoço da criatura base para se fundir com a metade humana. A melhor saida aqui seria aproveitar a própria parte da crina do unicórnio original, mas eu resolvi guardar aquela parte toda para alguma ocasião futura.

The first thing was continue the neck from main creature to merge on the new upperbody. The best way was indeed the very same neck from the unicorn, but i resolved to save that for another day.

Como recentemente eu acabei cortando a face do hippogriffo eu tinha metade de uma parte superior do mesmo livre. Cortei ela e fiz todos os sulcos de encaixes necessários para dar forma e encaixe na criatura.

Recently i have cut an hippogriff ant take off all its face, this has let me with an half-part with no face, and the perfect match to acoplish on this task. So i get that half-neck from the hippogriff and start, cutting to make the mold i needed to fit on the unicorn´s neck.

Eu gostei do resultado. No entanto, as roupas da Golden Wyvern cortadas em reto não combinavam nada com o resto do corpo. Pensei então em fazer uma espécie de cinturão ao redor desta parte do corpo do centauro.

It became good. However the Golden Wyvern was been cut by half and it´s clothes was in no good design with the rest of the creture. I needed to fix that. And to do this i decide to create somekind of girdle.

Passei horas pensando em como fazer e só me decidi depois de olhar os restos das minis usadas nas minhas criações.

It took from me hours to decide how i´ll doing this, and only after i taken a look at remains of the miniatures i have used before i get an idea.

Lá estava a cintura do efrett que sobrara na primeira de minhas montagens. A citura era feita de um pano marrom. Resolvi que ela seria apropriada. Cortei inumeras lascas, dela sempre aproveitando o melhor que podia para caracterizar um cinturão de couro, e após juntar vários pedaços consegui fazer uma escultura bem interessante.

There was a waist of efrett, left in the first of my works. The waist was made ​​of a brown cloth. I decided it would be appropriate. I cut numerous chips, always taken the best parts to make the leather belt, and after joining several pieces i was able to make a very interesting sculpture.

Eu queria este centauro apoiado nas duas patas traseiras, então para dar apoio a criatura tive que modificar a posição do rabo. Com isso o rabo e uma das patas davam o suporte a miniatura. No entanto os pontos de colagem eram muito frageis era necessário dar mais suporte.

I wanted this centaur supported on his two hind legs, then to support the creature, i needed to modify the position of the tail. Thus the tail and one leg support the miniautre. However, the sticking points were too fragile to give the needed support.

Dai tive a idéia de pegar todas as lascas que me sobraram da cintura do efrett e junta-las abaixo da base da criatura com uma super-cola. As lascas acabaram se moldando de forma consistente e me deram a base que eu precisava para fixar minha miniatura de maneira mais segura.

Then i has the idea to get all the chips that I left over from the efreett waist and join them below the base of the new creature with an super glue. The chips ended up molding and consistently gave me the foundation I needed to fix the miniature in a safer manner.

Por fim fiz o repaint no centauro, observando que as cores bases (o verde claro) eu já havia passado nas duas miniaturas principais. O interessante é que as lascas do resto cintura do efreet se transformaram em um excelente arbusto, dando um acabamento especial para a criatura.

Finally I did repaint on the centaur, noting that the base colors (light green) I was past the two main creatures. The interesting thing is that the chips from the rest of the Efreet waist became an excellent bush, giving a special finish to the creature.

Agora algumas observações sobre esta criatura.

Some curiositys about:

1) Eu usei 4 miniaturas para fazer esta criatura: 1 Golden Wyvern Initiate, 1 Unicorn, 1 Hippogriff, 1 Efreet Fireblade. No entanto você pode substituir a crina do hippogriff pela própria crina do unicórnio e fazer o cinturão com qualquer outra miniatura, embora eu recomende a cintura do efreett.

1) I used 4 miniatures to build this creature: a Golden Wyvern Initiate, a Unicorn, a Hippogriff, an Efreet Fireblade. However you can override the mane of Hippogriff, with  Unicorn's own hair and make the belt with any other miniature, though I recommend the waist efreett.

2) Para criar o cinturão do centauro, eu fatiei e cortei inumeras lascas que sobraram da cintura do Efreet, todas estas lascas mais tarde foram usadas para dar segurança e suporte a miniatura e como acabamento foram transformados em arbustos.

2) To create the centaur´s girdle, I sliced ​​and cut numerous chips left over from the waist of the Efreet, all these chips were later used to provide security and support to the miniature and were transformed into bushes.

3) A crina do hippogriffo fez um fechamento especial encaixando bem com o pescoço do unicórnio.

3) The Hippogriff's mane has a special design that fits well with the neck of the unicorn.

4) A nova criatura ficou com 56mm de altura, 56 mm de comprimento (ponta da cauda até casco mais longo) e 22mm de profundidade.

4) The new creature got 56mm in height, 56 mm in length (tip of the tail to hoof longer) and 22mm deep.
